An idiot with a medical degree is still an idiot
As some of you know, I had surgery last week. It was on my sinuses, and it hurts like hell- even now a week later. I had to share some stupid with you, since we all live for people to do stupid stuff (or maybe thats just morty) lol Anyhoo, they tell me to be at the hospital at 6 am, the surgery will take one hour, well the doc later said it took almost twice as long cuz it was messed up severely. So i go in, sign my forms and all. Im watching my brother in law put an iv in me. Doesnt bother me one bit. The anethesiologist (probably spelled wrong i dont care) came in, now up to this point i was fine, not worried scared or anything. Before he introduced himself, he dropped his notebook, bent over picked it up which he then lost his stethoscope, picked that up- then it was the paper he had in the notebook- this went on with about 4 different things. Im lying there laughing. He puts his stuff, unorganized on the desk beside me. which was hard cuz he had his pen in his hand. He starts glancing over the pile of stuff, looking for something- under the papers, first in a bunch then individually. I hear him say " where is my pen?" I look at him like he’s the idiot that he is, and said " in your hand" He looks down and says " o my i can keep track of anything" He tells me who he is, I immediately start to worry. This is the man that will be giving me drugs so Im out, the one monitoring the heartbeat- the one running the machine that is breathing for me during the surgery.
OMG I look up and say to myself, Im dead, Ive lived 32 yrs- through 3 accidents that almost killed me and this is how im gonna die- I’ll be in surgery and something shiny will distract gomer and I’ll go into cardiac arrest. I ask him if there will be anyone else that will be there too, he says his assistant- i meet her, much more intelligent than the guy, she didnt drop anything. So that at least made me feel better. I dont remember much before I got in there cuz they made me go to sleep right away, but I do remember waking up- not being able to see and telling the nurse that if my vision was screwed up because of that guy I was gonna kick his ass. lol They told me later that they figured it was just the meds talking….. yea right the meds.
